Soccer

There are five billion football fans worldwide, with Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa representing the largest fan bases. These fans often support their national team, local club, a "world" club, and sometimes even a particular player. Even though soccer is not the most popular sport in the United States, there is no doubt it is the most popular sport globally. The top leagues are in Europe, and arguably, the world's biggest sporting event is the World Cup, which occurs every four years.

The Champions League final generally averages around 400 million viewers – the estimate for the 2021 final can probably be attributed in part to the coronavirus pandemic – around four times as many as the Super Bowl on an annual basis and is watched in an estimated 200 countries worldwide. With so much viewership and the need for competitive, high-level athletes, CESG services will ensure that our athletes are in front of all the clubs, G.M.s, and sponsors domestically and internationally.

Major League Soccer is the top-flight professional soccer league in the United States and Canada and was founded in 1996 after the USA hosted the 1994 FIFA World Cup. MLS Tryouts are challenging to be invited to unless you are drafted out of College from the MLS SuperDraft or the MLS Supplemental Draft. If you are not invited to the MLS Combine, the likelihood of you getting to try out with an MLS team is minimal. The median guaranteed compensation for a player in the MLS is $248,333 annually. MLS's minimum salary for players is $84,000 per year. Of course, top-tier MLS players are paid a lot more than their colleagues. According to the MLS Players' Association's most recent update on league salaries, published in May 2022, the average basic wage for a senior-roster non-designated player is $438,728 a year. Per the MLSPA - the league's players' union - pay packets increased by 10.3% in 2022.

The National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) is a professional women's soccer league at the top of the United States league system. The NWSL minimum salary is still low ($35,000 in 2022), though each player is provided housing or a stipend. This year's landmark CBA also included requirements for playing field conditions, standards for team medical staff, and paid mental health leave. Under the NWSL CBA, minimum pay increased by approximately 60% from $22,000 in 2021 to $35,000 in 2022. This is a substantially more significant initial percentage increase than the 12% raise MLS players received in their first CBA in 2004. Plus, NWSL players will now receive competition bonuses and 401(k) contributions.
